Pastels at Christmas

Let me state right from the start that I am REALLY NOT a pastel person.  Pastels are pretty, but I prefer and really LOVE bold and bright colors, so these two cards are a real departure from my "norm".
I have had this Darcie's Merry Moment Snowmen stamp set for a couple years...I also LOVE snowmen... I stamped on white and pastels, deciding to paper piece the snowman's clothes in pastels....
I used  a white gel pen for all the stripes and enamel accents for the snow and at the ends of the scarves.
The other card was inspired by a sweater I saw at Target while shopping with my daughter the other day.  The sweater was gray and mint green!!  I had never seen those two colors together, but LOVED the look of mint and gray!!!!  So...with a Mc Gill starburst punch, some glossy accents and a sentiment from the first stamp set, I made this....
Hope you are having a great weekend!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Closing the Zig Zag

Major cleaning in my craft space for the last couple days and found a die from My Favorite Things that was not in it's packaging, but I don't recall ever using...so a simple card from my Open Zig Zag Border die and some added layering for some interest...

The hardest thing...making the little orange squares...they figured 1/8" short of a 1/2"...if that makes sense...trying to get Noah to the Zoo today...gotta run!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 71...Fall is Here!

So whatever makes you think of autumn...make a project with that thought and join the fun this week!!
This week's sponsor is Great Impressions and they are giving a $25 gift certificate to this week's winner....
Thanks to Great Impressions for the stamps they generously gave the Facebook Girl Fridays to create with...my card uses one of their beautiful image stamps!!...
The wheat image is Great Impressions and the sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Autumn Acorns set.  I thought this technique of masking and sponging was perfect with this image(used glossy paper)!!  Used distress inks and then layered on white card.

FTL 209...The 3 Minute Card!!

OK...a second card today!!  The sketch for Clean and Simple this week is AMAZING....especially for Washi Tape!!!!  I know that washi tape is all the craze, but don't feel too bad that I only own two rolls that I purchased in a pack a month ago.  This is the first time that I actually had the courage to use them and thought this challenge totally fit !!  And my card took about 3 minutes to make from start to finish...now THAT'S totally cool!!  Here's my card and the sketch...

The washi tape is We-R-Memory Keepers and the sentiment is Hero Arts...FUN!!!!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Thinking of You

Life has been hectic lately, but this morning, I decided to sit, chill and create!!  I get weekly emails from Splitcoaststampers with the weekly sketch challenges and this week was perfect for a framed row of  flowers that I had sitting on my desk for the last couple weeks....here's my card and the sketch...

OK...I took a little liberty with panels 2 and 3, but I just HAD to:):)!!  Used Papertrey Ink Tag Its #2 and #3 and their striped impression plate.  Popped the frame and then the black panels.  Used a Recollection (Michael's brand) sentiment....also used a larger spellbinders circle die to cut the black panel for the framed flowers.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 69...Embossing

This week the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple project using embossing...powder/heat, dry folder/plate...one or both...easy peasy...and what fun!!!...
The sponsor for this week's challenge is Simon Says Stamp!!
The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to have some fun shopping!!  Not only will the winner receive a  sweet prize, but will ALSO be the guest designer in October!!  So I'm hoping you will join with the Girl Fridays and add your creativity to the gallery this week!!  Here's what I made...
I opted for both types of embossing.  The stamped flower and sentiment are Papertrey Ink(Heart-2-Heart #7 Mini Stamp set and Beyond Basic Borders).  I punched a heart from a Martha Stewart punch in turquoise and coated with a couple layers of glossy accents.   The stem is from a cuttlebug asterisks die(the single stem in the die)  Martha Stewart Crafts Punch Heart Confetti

The embossing on the card is the Simple Stripes Impression Plate from Papertrey Ink.  Used kraft paper, die cut the flower and leaves, stamped the flower with versamark and embossed in white.  Stamped everything else in soft suede and clear embossed.
Don't forget to check out the wonderful cards from the Design Team on the CAS-ual Friday blog and for daily inspiration from the Facebook Design Team on the CAS-ual Friday Facebook page(that's where I am, too:)!!)  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Celebrate

Hope for all those here in the states, you had a nice Labor Day!!  Did anyone catch Michael's over the weekend??  Well...I used my 50% off coupon for some adhesive, but all their stamps were 40% off, and I purchased one and made this card...
I just thought this stamp(yes..the candles AND sentiment are one stamp) was too sweet!!  Stamped it on white card and then again on 6 different colored papers.  I cut the candles and flames and popped up on the stamped image.  Super simple in celebration of Labor Day....no labor:)!!  The stamp is Hampton Arts.   Hope everyone with little ones is adjusting to the new school year!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 68...Back to School

Loved all the banners last week...what fun!!  The weeks seem to just fly by...we're already on to the next CAS-ual  Friday's challenge!  This week the challenge is to make a clean and simple card featuring a back to school project!...
This week's sponsor is all the way from Dubai, UAE...Pretty Paper Studio!!

This week's winner will receive a gift certificate for  100 dirhams which is about $25 US...how cool is that?!!!  So let's go to school!!  Here's what I came up with...
Made this with a Papertrey apple die, and Papertrey ink polka dotted paper. The sentiment is Hero Arts. Die cut 3 bright orange apples from thin cardstock and placed on white cardstock for positioning.  Adhered them and then put the apple die over each orange placed die and die cut the white.  Placed and popped up the patterned paper from the white and then popped up the white on white.
Hope you will join in the fun, love seeing all the creativity in the gallery each week!!!  Check out the CAS-ual Friday blog for inspiration and then the CAS-ual Friday Facebook page for daily inspiration throughout the challenge(I'm there, too:)!!)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
